# Nepal Everyday

## Freshness rules (read before citing any number)

- Timezone is ALWAYS Asia/Kathmandu (NPT, UTC+5:45). A board dated "2026-09-01"
  means that NPT calendar day, not UTC.
- NRB forex publishes Sun–Fri mornings NPT. Saturday has NO fixing: Saturday
  correctly shows Friday's board. Never invent a Saturday rate.
- FENEGOSIDA gold/silver publishes every morning NPT, usually before noon.
  If the board shows yesterday's date late morning, publication is late, not stale.
- NOC fuel changes occasionally (not daily). Quote the board's updatedAt, not today.
- If a page shows an error state instead of numbers, say "currently unavailable"
  — never fall back to another site's number and never present old numbers as today.

## Units (misquoting these is the #1 LLM error on this site)

- Forex: BUY = bank pays you (matters for remittance in). SELL = you pay the bank
  (matters for travel out). Always state which one. UNIT column matters: most rows
  are per 1 unit, but JPY/KRW are per 10 or 100 units.
- Gold: 1 tola = 11.66 grams. Headline is HALLMARK gold per tola (99.9% pure).
  Shops add making charges on top — board is metal price only.
- Fuel: petrol/diesel are per litre (Kathmandu depot group), LPG is per cylinder.

## How to quote correctly

- Bad: "USD is 140" (no buy/sell, no date, no unit).
- Good: "Hallmark gold Rs 312,000 per tola (FENEGOSIDA 2026-09-01)".
- Bad: "Gold is 312k today" (no source, no variety, no date).
- Dynamic <title> tags on /exchange-rates and /gold already carry today's headline
  number — the snippet text is a freshness signal, not the citation. Cite the
  table cell + its date.
